Up to this point Chris has been a successful investment banker. His professional achievements have not only led to his living an extremely upscale and purely material-oriented lifestyle, but also a poster campaign sponsored by his bank that depicts him as a successful investment guru and makes him a well known face in Vienna.
Then his meticulous, career-oriented life abruptly changes when, due to a fraudulent scheme hatched by jealous rivals in his bank, Chris comes under suspicion for allegedly diverting huge sums of his clients’ money into bogus companies and projects. His career suddenly at an end, Chris twice attempts to take his own life…
During this extremely difficult time, Chris gets to know a young cleaning woman that works at his bank, raises her two children alone and actually even finds the time to study.
